My another little adventure took me to the largest island in Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island. The island is a wildlife sanctuary and will be a heaven on Earth for any keep wildlife spotters. Incidentally Brownsea is a home of red squirrels. I personally love red squirrels and I was on the look out for them. Getting to the island was an adventure in itself. Me and travel companions chose a very sunny and beautiful day to visit the island which made our day even better. To get to the island we had to go on a short ferry ride. We chose to cross in Sandbanks. The only draw back, you have to pay for the ferry even if you are a NT member. The island itself was really beautiful and there was plenty to do and see. Loads to do for adults and kids as well. It really made for a wonderful day. The views on the cliff top walk were stunning and you could see for miles. The beaches were lovely and sandy. I would definitely recommend this place. It felt like being on mini holiday. Sadly I didn’t spot any red squirrels but maybe I was just not paying enough attention. Next time ….
